The Historic Butte Opera House, refurbished in 1999 by the City of Cripple Creek, is now The Butte Theater. The Butte is one of the last remaining theaters in the country maintaining the style of the Classical American Melodrama. Through year round programming, The Butte proudly presents Plays, Musicals, and Special Events such as comedy acts and concerts in tandem with Melodramas. Our year is split between two seasons: the Community Season (January - May) and the Professional Season (June - December), with special events scheduled throughout the year.
