
The Public Works Department maintains roads in the city year-round. It implements safety improvements to enhance vehicle and pedestrian safety, paves streets and performs preventive maintenance on existing paved streets.

- To develop and maintain a smooth and safe surface transportation system
Goals and Objectives
- Implement safety improvements to enhance vehicle and pedestrian safety
- Expand the construction of curb, gutter and sidewalks as much as is financial possible
- Develop storm water control infrastructure that is adequate for 10-year storm events and that prevents excessive erosion
- Pave all unpaved streets within the city limits
- Perform adequate preventive maintenance to obtain the maximum useful life of all paved roads
