Public Works


The Public Works Department maintains roads in the city year-round. It implements safety improvements to enhance vehicle and pedestrian safety, paves streets and performs preventive maintenance on existing paved streets. 

Mission

  • To develop and maintain a smooth and safe surface transportation system 

Goals and Objectives

  • Implement safety improvements to enhance vehicle and pedestrian safety
  • Expand the construction of curb, gutter and sidewalks as much as is financial possible
  • Develop storm water control infrastructure that is adequate for 10-year storm events and that prevents excessive erosion
  • Pave all unpaved streets within the city limits
  • Perform adequate preventive maintenance to obtain the maximum useful life of all paved roads
