The City of Cripple Creek Community Development Department is pleased to announce the implementation of a new permitting software CommunityCore. This upgrade comes in response to user feedback, industry standards, and advancements in technology. Our goal is to enhance the user experience and improve transparency in the permitting process.
To get started, you will need to create an account. Click here for the CommunityCore link. Choose the "Registering for" either as a contractor or community member link. Once registered, you will have access to all aspects of permits, including applying for new permits, making revisions, checking the status of pending applications, and coming soon processing payments through our online portal.

Please note that SAFEbuilt is the City's new full-service company for plan review, permits, and inspections.
As of May 28, 2026, Martin L. Colgan assumed duties as Building Inspector **Combination Inspector for Residential and Commercial Building, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Gas Piping.
Normal Duty hours will be 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM on Mondays and Fridays. When there is a holiday during the work week, an alternate day may be added, but the specific day will be selected based upon conditions, on a “case by case” basis. Ordinarily, on Monday or Friday mornings, the building inspector will be present in the office at 337 E. Bennett Ave, from 07:30 to 09:00 to answer questions in person or by telephone at 719-689-3588 Ext. #. After 9 AM the inspector is likely to be “in the field” performing inspections. When all inspections are completed, the inspector will return to the office and be available for consultations.
