
About our elections
Regular Elections:
Elections are held on the first Tuesday in November of odd-numbered years and are coordinated and administered by Teller County. Regular elections include candidates for City Council and ballot questions or issues referred to the ballot by the City Council or by citizens through a petition process.
The next Regular Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. There will be two (2) Councilmember seats to fill, one (1) for Ward 4 and one (1) for Ward 5.
Run for City Council:
If you are interested in running for a Council Seat, you must register by filing a Candidate Affidavit within 10 days of announcing your intent to run for a Council Seat. Your Candidate Committee must also register with the City Clerk's office before accepting any contributions. Each candidate for City Council must be nominated by a petition signed by at least 25 registered electors residing within the City of Cripple Creek.
Only petitions obtained from the City Clerk’s office may be circulated. Blank petition forms may not be copied to obtain additional signatures or to give to other candidates. Petition forms from the City Clerk’s office may not be disassembled. Each candidate must turn in all of their petitions at the same time by a set date.
Prospective candidates must be a resident of the City of Cripple Creek and a registered elector who has resided within the City limits for at least 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of the election.

Register to vote! Visit the Colorado Secretary of State’s website to register online. If you are unable to register to vote online, register in person at the Teller County Elections Office.
