This authentic miner’s cabin, a short six-mile drive from Cripple Creek, was originally built in the Ajax Mine on one of the lower levels as an office. In the 1940s, Joseph Thompson had it dismantled and rebuilt in the Athletic Field where the Gold Bowl baseball field is currently located. In 1996, it was moved from the Gold Bowl to its current location.
The Thompson Cabin’s refurbished with antiques and furnished to retain its heritage and provide comfort for two. The kitchen has an 8′ counter with a double sink, microwave, toaster oven, refrigerator, stove with oven, coffee pot and dishes. The cabin is equipped with both electric and propane heat. No pets or indoor smoking.
