Historic Preservation and Planning Coordinator
Full-time, full benefits offered. Hiring range is $59,296-$69,760 per year, DOE.

Department: Planning and Community Development

Job duties include: Responsible for monitoring and coordinating the Historic Preservation (HP), Planning, and Mt. Pisgah Cemetery processes, including intake of applications, review and distribution of materials submitted, disseminating information regarding HP concepts and guidelines, and interpreting code and reviewing guidelines, while maintaining records and processing actions by the HP Commission, Planning Commission, City Council, and Cemetery Board.

Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in architecture, architecture history, art history, or historic preservation preferred and three years of experience preferably in a municipal setting working within the historic preservation area. Other combinations of education and experience that provide the knowledge and skills required for the job may be substituted for listed requirements. Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License or obtain one within 30 days of hire. Must be able to pass a background check and provide an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record from any state in which a license was held within the last three years.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Full-time, full benefits offered. Hiring range is $48,783 to $57,391 per year, DOE.

Department: Public Works

Job duties include: Performs a variety of skilled mechanical repair work to automotive and power equipment and manages a preventive maintenance program.

Requirements include: Minimum of two years verifiable work experience in automotive mechanic work required. Two years as apprentice or vocational training can be substituted for the experience as a mechanic. Must have a valid Class B Colorado Commercial Driver’s License or be able to obtain one within 30 days. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and provide an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record from any state in which a license was held within the last three years.

Accounting Technician

Department: Finance

Job duties include: Accounting responsibilities including accounts payable processing; managing and completing 1099’s and W-9’s; and accounts receivable including accepting, receipting, and depositing payments.

Requirements include: Experience in accounting and bookkeeping preferred, along with experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. High school diploma or GED required; any combination of further education and experience including an Associate’s degree, training, course work, or work experience in general business, banking, or municipal government preferred with three years progressively responsible clerical work including at least one year of bookkeeping. Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License or obtain one within 30 days. Police Dispatcher
Full-time, full benefits offered. Hiring range is $58,468 to $70,159 per year, DOE.

Department: Police Communications

Job Duties Include: Performs work in receiving and prioritizing emergency and other calls for service for law enforcement, fire, emergency and related services and informs and dispatches response units; provides emergency medical instructions to the public per protocols; prepares and maintains a variety of records and serves as receptionist. Must be able to: monitor and answer multi-channel radios and monitor additional frequencies for adjacent jurisdictions; maintain accurate and current awareness of the status and location of all personnel and equipment; operate computer terminals to enter, query, modify and/or delete data from NCIC/CCIC and CAD systems; maintain confidentiality; monitor building surveillance equipment. Must also be able to perform well in high stress situations, work within a team environment, assist with various clerical duties and assist the public. Shift work required for 24/7 emergency operations.

Requirements include: experience preferred. Must be 18 years or older, pass a background check, psych and polygraph, audiogram, computer skills test and other job specific testing. Police Corporal

Department: Police

Patrols assigned beat on foot or in patrol car to control traffic, prevent crime or disturbance of peace, and arrest violators. Supervises police officers when sergeant is absent.

Recommended training will include: Interview and Interrogation, Domestic Violence, Community Oriented Policing, First Responder, and Field Training Officer.

Experience in Traffic Accident Investigation desired. Minimum experience of two consecutive years within the last five years in the police field. Must be 21 years of age or older, have a valid Colorado Driver’s License, be POST certified, be able to pass all physical and psychological exams, background checks, and pre-employment drug test, and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from all states in which a license has been held within the previous three years. Requires a high school diploma or GED. College course work in police science, criminology, or a closely related field is preferred. Police Officer Recruit
Full-time, full benefits offered. Starting salary is $46,467 per year.

Department: Police

Under immediate supervision, actively participates in the P.O.S.T. certified police training academy; performs all related learning and testing activities. Police Recruits will be sponsored by the City while attending the law enforcement academy, including academy tuition and an hourly pay rate of the salary above, which is $22.34/hour. Recruits must successfully complete the Academy and be Colorado POST certified prior to starting in the department’s Field Training and Evaluation Program (FTEP). Your hourly rate when you start the FTEP will be the current starting rate for Police Officer, which is currently $29.44/hour. Treatment Plant Operator I: Entry-level position; Colorado Class D Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Operator certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire. Hiring Range: $48,783 to $57,391, DOE.

Treatment Plant Operator II: Specialized training and experience in water and/or wastewater treatment facility operations; Colorado Class C Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Operator certification; minimum two years of increasingly responsible treatment plant operations and maintenance experience required. Hiring Range: $53,783 to $63,274, DOE.

Treatment Plant Operator III: Specialized training and experience in water and/or wastewater treatment facility operations; Colorado Class B Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Operator certification; minimum three years of increasingly responsible treatment plant operations and maintenance experience required. Hiring Range: $59,296 to $69,760, DOE.

Job duties include: Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled technical and maintenance tasks in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the water and wastewater treatment facilities.

Requirements include: High school diploma or GED. Valid Colorado Driver’s License or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and provide an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record from any state in which a license was held within the last three years.
